Colorado wheat producers need a strong and united voice now more than ever! Our country is still trying to climb out of the economic crisis. Wheat prices dropped significantly the last two years and are lower than the cost of production in some cases. Whenever budget deficit reduction comes up, loud voices in Congress call for a reduction in Farm Bill program payments and loud voices in the Colorado General Assembly call for suspension or repeal of agricultural sales tax exemptions. This highly politicized atmosphere calls for a strong and united voice.
The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG) is that strong voice! CAWG and the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) will vigorously defend the 2008 Farm Bill against any budget cuts. CAWG was one of the first to speak out against Cap and Trade, with a strong resolution against current pending legislation, and NAWG opposes greenhouse gas legislation or regulation that has a negative impact on production agriculture.
Your $100 investment in a CAWG membership means money in your pocket. It's by working through your association that we can and do make a difference.
CAWG urges you to join CAWG or renew your membership and continue to make your voice heard. Our continued success depends upon your support!
